"Dangit!" a developer yelled in the Bethesda office last week. After spending 1000 long hours of storyboarding, coding, and graphic design, Bethesda accidentally made Skyrim again. Elder Scrolls has been an iconic first person RPG and Skyrim has been above and beyond gamer expectations. But now that the game is over twelve years old, Bethesda has been absent on a sequel.
Well, you can't blame them for trying to get back on the horse, but after their first attempt to make Elder Scrolls VI, they realized it was just a carbon copy of Skyrim.
"I don't understand how it happened," Chris Cooper, the lead designer admitted, "we just started adding mods and putting in code and Skyrim was made. From the first beheading intro to the last boss, we made the same game."
But Bethesda is not upset at this muck up. Instead they will be repackaging the Skyrim they accidentally made as Elder Scrolls: Skyrim HD Game of the Year Platinum Bundle. It will be available on the Switch, PC, PS5, Xbox X, and certain smart refrigerators.
"If you can't beat them, repackage them," Chris Cooper says.
