After Deep Silver's 4th installment of Saint's Row had been reduced in price yet again, it only made sense to just start giving away the game for free. That is why each customer who makes a purchase at participating Walmart will get a free copy of the open world crime game.
"Some customers walk away with four or five copies of Saint's Row 4 in a single purchase," says Flores, the cashier at Walmart, "we just give them away."
Deep Silver admits that they are very eager to make sure everyone within reach has played their game at least once. It's the reason why the game is constantly on sale, part of streaming game services, and now given out freely with each purchase at Walmart.
"It didn't make sense at first," Sam Ketchco, manager of a local Walmart admitted, "What would a seventy year old grandma want with a gang style shoot'em up that swears like a sailor? To my surprise the game is being picked up by each customer. A nice elderly man says they make an excellent coaster."
Anyone within distance of a Walmart is encouraged to pick up a couple copies of the game. If a Walmart is not accessible than Deep Silver will hand deliver a case of them to your house. If you can only download them off of Steam the company will give you a dollar to take it.
"Every Playstation, PC and Xbox needs to have at least six copies of the game," Josh Hendry, lead strategist of Deep Silver proclaimed. "We can make sure it happens."
