Microsoft buys rights to the X button

In a sad day for gaming creativity, Microsoft has purchased the rights to all gaming buttons that are intersecting sticks. That includes the letter "x" and the Playstation cross.  With this new purchase, only the Xbox is allowed to have a button with two intersecting sticks.

Switch, Playstation, and Keyboard designers are scrambling to find an alternative to the iconic "x" button that has been in gaming since the early 90's. Some have offered that they should make a sequel to "y" or a pow icon. The execs at Sony are currently looking into a rhombus shape to replace the cross.

Video gamers are not pleased with this development. "I use x for night vision goggles in Call of Duty. Am I supposed to revert back to ctrl or shift like some noob?" Chad, an eSports gamer, complained.
